In the vibrant town of Braintree, lived a kindergartener named Aarshi, a bubbly and curious girl who loved to explore and learn. One cozy evening, as rain gently pattered against the windows, Aarshi and her mother
cuddled up on the couch for their favorite evening ritual – watching nature videos together on YouTube.
That night, the video they chose featured the wonders of ocean life. Aarshi’s eyes sparkled with joy as she
watched dolphins play and colorful fish dart through coral reefs. But soon, the video took a serious turn. It
showed a group of marine biologists rescuing a turtle which had something lodged in its nose. The turtle was in visible distress, and Aarshi’s heart ached as she saw the pain in the turtle’s eyes. The biologists found that a plastic fork in its nose!!
With a gentle hand, they carefully removed the fork, but the damage was done. The video explained how plastic waste harms marine animals and pollutes the oceans. Aarshi turned to her mother, her voice trembling, “Mom, why is there so much plastic in the ocean?” Her mother hugged her tightly, “People sometimes throw away plastic carelessly, and it ends up in places where it hurts animals. It’s really sad, isn’t it?”
Over the next few days, Aarshi couldn’t stop thinking about the turtle. She began to notice how often she used plastic utensils at school during lunch and at birthday parties. She thought about the turtle and decided she had to do something. “But Mamma, I’m a tiny girl. What can I do?” she asked her mother. “You can still make a difference. And you are not alone. You can always ask your friends for help. Mother earth will be so proud of you.”
And then "aarshi&friends” was born.......
